Beschreibung

DLD stands for Digital, Life, Design and explores how the digital age fundamentally changes our life, society and business. Founded in 2005, DLD started as in intimate gathering of friends. Since then it has developed into an interdisciplinary, internationally connected platform for people who have changed or will change the world – with their creativity, their business model, their research findings or their personal involvement in a cause close to their heart. Over the last decade DLD has become a hub to launch new concepts, connect disparate ideas or inspire through outstanding role models – bridging the gap between continents, business models and thought patterns. DLD is Europe’s hottest digital innovation conference and has been named ‘one of the two most important innovation conferences in Europe’ by The Economist.

In 2018, DLD will be taking place January 21-22 in Munich, Germany, shortly before the World Economic in Davos, and will expect 150 top-notch speakers and 800 influential, "by invitation only" attendees.

Guests and speakers have previously included Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg, Marissa Mayer, Eric Schmidt, Travis Kalanick, Jan Koum, Chad Hurley, Tony Fadell, Jack Dorsey, Sean Parker, Satya Nadella, Jeremy Stoppelman, Arianna Huffington or Lawrence Lessig, Troy Carter, Natalie Massenet, Paolo Coelho, curators Hans Ulrich Obrist and Chris Dercon, architects Zaha Hadid, Rem Koolhaas and Norman Foster, artists like Ai Weiwei, Yoko Ono, Olafur Eliasson and Taryn Simon, superstars Lady Gaga and Alanis Morissette but also Nobel laureates Daniel Kahneman and Martti Ahtisaari, scientists Craig Venter, Dimitar Sasselov and Sebastian Thrun or VCs such as Reid Hoffmann, Jim Breyer, Ben Horowitz or Peter Thiel.

DLD is a key driver in the European Media world. Over 220 journalists from opinion forming media such as New York Times, Bloomberg, WIRED, The Economist, The Guardian, Fortune, Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, FAZ, FOCUS, Spiegel, Sueddeutsche Zeitung or CNBC will be attending and covering the conference. DLD has been recorded to create over four billion quality contacts in 2017.

Also, DLD is part of Germany’s most renowned publishing house Hubert Burda Media with over 250 lifestyle magazines such as InStyle, ELLE, Bunte, Focus, Harper’s Bazaar or Playboy.
